The core of the blade is made of hard steel T10, on the sides is a damascus of mild steel 1060/1020 to maintain the flexibility of the knife. There are 33 layers on each side, so the total number of layers is 67. The notches at the top of the blade serve to better cut off the cut slices from the blade.
