History and Tradition

Seki, Japan, the cutiery capital, is situated in the center of the Japanese Archipelago, For centuries, Seki swords were renowned as effective swords that neither bent nor broke. During the civil wars from the late 1400s to early 1600s. Seki swrods were favored by the Samurai warriors. Therefore, Seki prospered and became Japan´s most famous sword manufacturing center.

The ancient technique of Japanese swordmaking, used for over 780 years, continues to be used in the making of KASUMI Tora knives. This explains their excellent cutting ability and hardness.

The main cutting blade of Kasumi Tora knives is made of Molybdenum Vanadium high carbon stainless steel that has been developed especially for knives. The blades are hardened to the professional-use level and, therefore, keep a sharper cutting edge longer.

The handle is made of Magnolia wood that has been used for traditional Japanese kitchen knives for over a few hundred years, give an ease of use with comfortableness for a long time kitchen work.
